Jordan was recently ranked the world’s best tourist destination by Lonely Planet. The city is home to some of the most iconic ancient sites including the famed Nabataean tombs and the spectacular rock tombs at Wadi Rum. But the country also boasts more modern attractions including the futuristic Dead Sea Towers, the largest outdoor cinema in the Middle East and a brand new luxury hotel, Ritz Carlton, opening this year. All this is made possible by the fact that Jordan has one of the lowest population rates per capita in the world. You could say it’s one of the least crowded countries on earth.
According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and the UN, international tourism to Jordan has grown by an impressive 42 percent over the past five years, making the country one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in the world. The country’s government is working to attract more visitors by upgrading its infrastructure and creating new attractions that appeal to tourists from all over the globe. This means you’ll need to brush up on your Arabic to communicate with the locals and be ready for some great experiences while exploring this amazing country.
So why has this country of just six million people been consistently ranked as one of the world’s top tourist destinations? There are two main reasons for the popularity. Firstly, Jordan’s cultural heritage is arguably more significant than that of any other nation. Its religious architecture, such as the Nabataean Tombs and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, are awe-inspiring. Secondly, the people of Jordan are warm and hospitable. You’ll find that most people will help a stranger out of their car, even if they don’t speak a word of English.
The people of Jordan live very different lives than the people of many Western countries. While the rest of the world lives on an average of 4.5 to 5 hours of sleep per night, the Jordanian people enjoy an average of 7 hours per night. Not only do they sleep longer, but they also nap for a whole hour after lunch. Their culture is different too. They believe that in order to have peace in the world, the men and women should separate themselves at work. Their religion is different as well, with Islam being the primary religion and Christianity being the minority.
Jordan is one of the smallest countries in the Middle East. While its population of just under 6 million people makes it only the 12th most populous country in the world, it boasts the largest population density in the region. Most people live in urban areas and only about 20 percent of Jordan’s land area is used for agriculture. Tourism plays a huge role in the Jordanian economy. In 2015, international tourists accounted for about 40 percent of the total GDP, or $6.8 billion. However, Jordan’s tourism industry has grown considerably over the past decade as the country has become increasingly popular among travelers. Jordan is also one of the only countries in the world to be officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Jordan is located in the Middle East and it has one of the lowest population rates per capita in the world. This means that the country is not very crowded. There aren’t many people in the country. The population is low. The country isn’t as big as some of the other countries in the Middle East. This is one reason why people come here to visit. It’s quiet, so you can relax. This is why it is popular with tourists.
Jordan is one of the safest countries in the Middle East. They have very strict laws about alcohol, so no one drinks in public places. This is why the streets are pretty empty when it is night time. They are very clean and they have good quality education.
Jordan is a country that has many places to see. The city of Petra has some of the oldest structures in the world.
